En Cage è il primo episodio di un trittico,“Bestiario Sentimentale”, come il bel libro di Guadalupe Nettel, in cui appaiono animali come metafore e simboli della donna e del sentimento amoroso. In ogni episodio una trasformazione avrà luogo, incarnate in scena da una maschera e una marionetta.
Protagonista dunque una Chimera dalle molteplici forme, prima donna con testa d’uccello, poi uccello con testa di donna.
Spettacolo ricco di simboli e immagini poetiche, esplora la condizione dell'essere in gabbia.
Gabbie fisiche e mentali in cui la donna/uccello, essere in origine potente e libero, si rinchiude, in seguito a una caduta, un dolore d'amore che la porta allo stato di prigionia e di attesa, infinita, in cui si consuma.
#1. Aspettare
Aspettare.
In una gabbia d'oro di cui siamo i soli a possedere la chiave.
Eppure prigionieri.
#2. Metamorfosi.
La donna uccello, come Araba fenice, risorge dalle sue ceneri, sotto forma di dama barocca; dalla sua parrucca, in cui resta un frammento di gabbia d'oro, si affaccia, liberato, un nuovo essere.
Una lotta contro le proprie paure piu'profonde, la paura a essere liberi e padroni della propria vita, la portera' a volare.
#1. Waiting
Waiting. Waiting. In a golden cage of which we are the only ones
to hold the key. Nervertheless captives. The curtain is closed on
the umpteenth death to oneself.
#2. Metamorphosis.
The bird woman, like Araba Phoenix, rises again from her ashes, as
in guise of Baroque Lady; from her wig, in which still lasts a
fragment of golden cage, raise out, free, a new being.
Her white wings are weak, she looks at the sky, remembering and
wishing the old freedom. A struggle against her own most deep
fears, the fear to be free and owner of one own life, will bring
her to fly.
When she was waiting for him
roses started to wither.
She had summer in her hand.
When he didn't come
she counted
till one hundred
till one thousand
till infinite
When he arrived
she was a statue
with empty eyes,
her mouth pocked.

En Cage is the first episode of a triptych, "Sentimental Beastiario", like the beautiful book by Guadalupe Nettel, in which animals appear as metaphors and symbols of the woman
and love feeling. In each episode a transformation will takeplace, embodied on stage by a mask and a puppet.
The protagonist is therefore a Chimera in many forms, first a woman with a bird's head, then a bird with a woman's head.
Rich in symbols and poetic images, the show explores the condition of being in a cage.
Phisical and mental jails in which the bird-woman, being
originally powerful and free, withdrows into herself, after a
fall, a love pain who brings her in the state of incarceration and
waiting, endless, in which she wears out.
